Concept and realization
Philips marked the anniversary of 110 years of presence at the Russian market by organizing its annual Philips Simplicity Event at the Red Square in Moscow. This is the event that Philips organizes on an annual basis in order to present the latest technologies, although still in the prototype phase, but which may potentially become a part of our everyday lives.
It was back in 1898 that Anton Philips concluded his first business outside the domestic market in the Netherlands and it was exactly in Russia: his task was to illuminate the Hermitage which was at the time the residence of the Tsars, the Winter Palace. Symbolically and in accordance with the main idea of this year’s Simplicity Event “Healthy Living”, Philips introduced the Light Blossom, a street light in a shape of a big flower with economical LED lamps that not only save the energy but create it with solar panels and by using the wind power. Apart from this, Philips presented the “Green Cuisine Kitchen”: a big kitchen table that people can use to eat at and cook on. There are heaters and coolers installed in the table and discreet LED diodes built in the wooden table inform the user on the process of cooking, cooling or heating up. They are invisible when you do not need them and all the necessary operations are activated simply by pressing your finger on the right place on the table. Apart from the things mentioned, Philips presented many other interesting solutions in an extremely creatively designed space in the Red Square, next to the Kremlin and St. Basil Cathedral. Just as it is appropriate for the big anniversary.
Many journalists from all over the world were present at the event. Philips’ guests from Serbia were Maja Vidaković, architect and founder of the creative studio “Mikser” and Snežana Simin, manager of the
