The first regional forum of local development was held 27th and 28th November 2009 in Vrsac. The gathering was organized by the Regional Agency for Socio Economic Development of Banat to encourage exchange of experiences among municipalities, intensifying their communication and forming some capital infrastructure projects which would be proposed to domestic and foreign international institutions, and which would mutually develop project applicants and Regional Agency for Socio Economic Development Banat. Apart from that, one of the objects of the forum also was encouragement of comprehension of key questions concerning regional development among municipalities’ representatives and introduction to options of their participation in development proposal for usage of non-returnable funds of the European Union.


The host of this-years forum was Vrsac which is also one of the founder municipalities of Regional Agency for Socio Economic Development of Banat. On the ceremonious opening of the first regional forum spoke Mirijana Paunov, the director of the Regional Agency for Socio Economic Development of Banat and Bob Mckean, an advisor on the project Regional socioeconomic developing program which finances the European Union.




For the purpose of promoting the First Regional forum of local and regional development, the agency sent the invitation to representatives of local medias and correspondents of national medias and introduced them to the topic of the forum. The agency prepared the material which was useful to journalists to inform themselves about important questions concerning the gathering. At the same time, in cooperation with information department of municipal Vrsac which was the host of the forum, the agency prepared everything necessary to receive media representatives and coordinated their interest during the forum.

On the ceremonious opening of the forum seven representatives of the medias were present and totally realized publicity was four published articles and six TV segments, also including guest appearance of the director of The Centre in the morning show of RT Vojvodina.
